Nike

Founded in 1964, as Blue Ribbon Sports distributing imported sports shoes and officially became Nike with its own designs in 1971. The company takes its name from the Greek goddess of victory. Nike is synonymous with the trademarks of Just Do It and the Swoosh logo which appeared on the very first Nike product. 

From sports shoes to sportswear and equipment, in the 80s Nike branched into street fashion with the growth in popularity of hip- hop and rap coupled with its huge sponsorship programme of sports stars and events.

Today Nike has many subsidiaries as well as its own brand and is the largest sportswear manufacturer in the world.
