GANT is a Swedish/American clothing brand founded by a jewish Ukrainian in New York following service during WW2.
Famous for its dress shirts and also the Yale Co-op shirt, a button down oxford shirt which GANT supplied the exclusively to the campus store and was considered the pinnacle of Ivy League fashion for several decades.
During the 1970s GANT moved into sportswear and in the 80s Europe following collaborations with Pyramid Sportswear, who bought them out in 1999.
