IRVIN WW2 Zipped Leather Flying JACKET
Very cool WW2 flying jacket- we think by Irvin but no label or makers mark. In patched brown sheepskin leather with a zip up front, fur lining and turned edging. Longer in the body than usual- and has two slot hand pockets and buckles and strap adjusters at each side. This jacket has clearly been constructed from patched panels - a technique used by manufacturers during WW2 to save material. Swift zip.
In very good vintage condition - used and vintage it is showing its age but actually age is adding to to its allure! The leather surface is well worn, but there are no rips or holes. The zip looks to have been restitched at some point, and is slightly tricky to use as the bottom is loose from the main body.
Size approx. Medium-Large
Measures approx:
21 inches pit to pit
20 inches pit to cuff
20 inches shoulder to shoulder
29 inches nape to hem
